Four recognition frameworks
Stancer Testing-Lab works under four recognition frameworks. One governs how the laboratory itself is assessed. The other three determine whether a test report is accepted in a particular market.
Each framework covers a different thing, and a product entering more than one market will usually need more than one of them.
ISO/IEC 17025
The international standard for the technical competence of testing laboratories. Methods, equipment calibration and measurement uncertainty are independently assessed rather than self-declared.
FCC
Recognition to test against United States requirements under 47 CFR Part 15 and related rules, needed before certification or a declaration of conformity can proceed.
ICES and ISED
Recognition to test against Canadian requirements, covering the ICES interference-causing equipment standards and the ISED RSS radio standards.
VCCI
The Japanese EMI framework for information technology and multimedia equipment. Formally voluntary, but treated as a requirement by most importers and distributors in Japan.
